ABOUT THE BOOK
Throughout my college career, undergraduate and graduate, I found myself always in a hurry but didn’t quite know where it was I was trying to go, what I was seeking, or for that matter, whether I was seeking something at all. A few years ago, while looking back through my high school senior memories book, I noticed those offering me best wishes for a bright future consistently wished I would find what I was “longing and looking for.” What was it about me that caused them to conclude that I was searching for something? For what was I searching? Where was life taking this underdog?
What I didn’t realize during that time was, the wall I had built up to protect me from all the painful and shameful memories of the past was preventing me from fully experiencing the love of God and the future He had for me. In building the wall to escape the pain and shame of the past, I had failed to see the hand of God molding and shaping me, in my life as an underdog, for His purpose, His glory, and the good of humankind.
